ob Gronkowski played on some of the most successful and talented teams in NFL history. Over the last few months, the Woodland Hills High School alum formed another highly successful team to help give his alma mater a lift.Thanks to donations from Gronkowski, U.S. Steel, and State Senator Jay Costa, Woodland Hills was able to renovate its weight room and fitness center to give its student-athletes a boost against the competition. Gronkowski and his team from Gronk Fitness, representatives from U.S. Steel, and the Woodland Hills athletic department formally reopened the fitness center during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, April 8. On the boys' side, Scoop Smith was named a first-team selection and Donshae Mosley was named a second-team selection in Section 1-6A.On the girls' side, Atiyah Walker was named a first-team selection.Congratulations to all of the honorees!

WPIAL CHAMPIONS!!!

Make some room in the trophy case!The Woodland Hills rifle team won the WPIAL Team Championship on Tuesday, the 12th team title in program history and the seventh as Woodland Hills High School! The program previously won five titles as Churchill High School. This is the first WPIAL title for the program since it captured three in a row from 2014-16.The team posted a score of 800.53x, edging out second place Hempfield and third place Butler for the trophy. Avery Thomas and Shamira Pennell made the WPIAL All-Tournament Team with impressive scores of 100-10x, which were the highest scores in the competition.Coached by Matthew Rodrigues, Chuck Pantalone, Robert Carr, and Sarah Rodocker, the team features students Caden Beeler, Ella Devore, Lillian Divelbiss, Brycen Filus, Elizabeth Geyer, Ben Hill, Renee Kilpatrick, Owen Kozlowski, Anthony Nemanic, Leila Nestico, Shamira Pennell, and Avery Thomas.The team has now qualified for the state championships, but first up are the WPIAL Individual

Girls Basketball Senior Rec

Friday night was the season finale for the girls basketball team, which meant it was time to honor two seniors for their contributions to the program.These two seniors were tasked with helping to guide a young, inexperienced team through the challenges presented by playing Class 6A basketball. Congratulations to both of them for rising to the occasion and for making their mark on the Woodland Hills girls basketball program.

Swim Senior Rec 2025

Wednesday night was the final home swimming meet of the regular season for the Wolverines, which meant it was time to honor eight senior swimmers who have been part of the program.Seven Woodland Hills seniors and one senior from Trinity Christian who swims with the Woodland Hills program were recognized prior to the meet against Shaler. Each of the Woodland Hills seniors has made a positive impact on the program during their time as Wolverines. Many of them are longtime swimmers and their experience will undoubtedly leave an impression on the underclassmen who are part of the program.Congratulations to each of the seniors on their outstanding swimming careers and best of luck to all of the Wolverines swimmers who will be taking part in the WPIAL championships later this season.

Wednesday morning was a celebratory one for Woodland Hills High School, as seven student-athletes officially signed their scholarship papers to pursue their sports at the collegiate level.The celebration was part of a signing day ceremony held inside the high school library. WRESTLING SENIOR REC

Thursday was senior recognition for the varsity wrestling team prior to the dual meet against Carrick and Washington.Four seniors were honored during the match, three of whom were able to be there with their families. All four senior wrestlers have made incredibly positive contributions to the wrestling program during their time with the team and should be commended for the hard work they've put in during practices and meets.The three seniors who were present Thursday evening have also contributed to the overall growth of girls wrestling in Pennsylvania. It became an officially sanctioned sport a couple of years ago and continues to expand throughout the state.
